Katherine Patiño Miranda is a Brooklyn-based artist from Cali Colombia born in 1983. Her work approaches the political and aesthetic dimension of human interactions reinventing ways of being together through performances, constructed situations, installations, drawings and paintings. Her group shows and performances include Around Us at Kate Oh Gallery, New York (2018); Magazin Launch Performance Research – On Radical Education at the Migros Museum, Zürich (2017); HnC - agency for the new contemporary at MANIFESTA11 European Bienal of Contemporary Art, Zürich (2016); and Half Understood- Half Collapse-Half Open at the Chinretsukan Gallery, Tokyo, Japan (2015) among other venues. Her solo projects are Notes on Salsa at Eggn’spoon in Zürich,Switzerland (2016); JAM&DINE at Les Complices*, Zürich, Switzerland (2015) and What’s my Color? at Art Fund Residency Program and Exhibition Space in Wasserburg, Germany (2014). Patiño Miranda has been the recipient of the merit art award at the III Biennale, DESDE AQUÍ in Bucaramanga Colombia as well as being awarded residency fellowships at BAF Bodensee Art Fund, Wasserburg ,Germany ; La Paternal Espacio Proyecto, Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Interacciones Forestales en Red, Centro Rural de Arte, Isla Victoria, Argentina. She graduated with a BA from Hunter College CUNY and an MFA from ZHdK Zürich University from the arts.
